The production of the song heavily features electronic drums and synthesizers, making it one of Cooper's most pop-oriented songs. The theme of the song is similar to other rock songs of the era, such as Guns N' Roses' Sweet Child O' Mine and Def Leppard's Pour Some Sugar On Me, which all celebrated romance and passion. The guitar solo in the song was played by an uncredited Richie Sambora of Bon Jovi. The song's lyrics were partially inspired by Cooper's own experiences with romantic hookups during his wild years in the 70s and 80s. Alice Cooper has said that he enjoys performing Spark In The Dark live because it always gets a great reaction from the audience. The song was a commercial success, reaching #5 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and #19 on the UK Singles Chart. ![]() The music video for Spark In The Dark features a cameo by Steven Tyler of Aerosmith. Some interesting facts about the song include: The final chorus reiterates that the two of them don't need anyone else because they have each other, and that their love is all they need to create a spark in the dark. The narrator jokes that they shouldn't write about their rendezvous in their diaries or tell anyone on the phone, implying that their relationship is something that only they can understand. The second verse of the song continues the theme of wanting to be alone and undisturbed while they embrace each other. The chorus emphasizes that all they need is a spark, as the narrator suggests that the passion between the two of them will be enough to ignite the flames of their love. The narrator sings about wanting to kiss and touch their partner, providing a sense of intimacy and longing. The song opens with an invitation to a party of two, encouraging the listener to forget about the world outside and embrace the moment. Maybe the most optimal way to setup ntopng is to separate it from the firewall and use a dedicated box to record and analyze network traffic by using a port mirror. This all makes it useless to put in production environments. Also in the previous version of pfsense, which had ntopng 3.8, geolocation data was not being reported correctly. In the latest pfsense 2.5 release, they updated ntopng to 4.2 which is great, but it contains a lot of bugs, sometimes ntopng keeps restarting on itself, other times it seems very slow, and I personally faced an issue that whenever an ntopng service restart occurs, all the package's config gets wiped out, so any modifications you make, like interface rename or adding alerts endpoints and recipients gets lost on next service restart. The artillery models I received are made from MDF, and you will need to use some hobby powers to assemble them. I don’t foresee any snapped spears or bayonets unless I really try to abuse the models. The plexiglass is sturdy and will stand up to some knocking about. I wouldn’t recommend it for weekly club use, but it’s certainly an option if you’re busy on another project or are in need of space. A friendly commenter reminded me that there is also a fantasy range available in 18-28mm. As with all ranges, smaller packs can be bought so you expand to massive fleet battles or keep it simple with a handful of ships per side. So far the naval offering extends from Lepanto through the Spanish Armada, closely followed by Trafalgar, ending up in 1905 with the Battle of Tsushima. All the ranges are based on battles, and come in packs for these as well. There are also plenty of naval models if that scratches your wargaming itch. If you want to get a running start with What A Cowboy for example, a single kit will sort that out. The Wild West range stands out as there are plenty of models that can be used in skirmish games. Sengoku-era Japan doesn’t have a line yet, nor does the Three Kingdoms period, but at the rate these models are pushed out, there is plenty of room for larger conflicts that don’t have dedicated model ranges. It can be hard to source miniatures for these, and this is an excellent way to game some less “popular” periods. Apart from the usual suspects, there are also options for the Spanish-Aztec war, Mongol invasion, and Maratha Empire. There are models in different scales available from biblical times up to the late 1900s. In a broad stroke, well, nearly everything. The kits give you an idea on what sort of periods are available. Comprised of singer/guitarist Tim Gilbert, his brother Kip on drums, lead guitarist Mac Ferris, bassist Sam Fuller, and keyboardist Bob Heckendorf, the group started as little more than a covers act, nevertheless parlaying a string of frat party gigs into a local television appearance that reportedly caught the attention of famed producer Phil Spector, who extended a management contract. A massive publicity campaign was in the planning stages when the spectacular failure of his magnum opus, Ike & Tina Turner's "River Deep, Mountain High," left Spector's career in shambles the Rainy Daze were among the collateral damage, and only in 1967 did their debut single, "That Acapulco Gold" - written by Tim Gilbert in collaboration with his college roommate John Carter - appear on Denver producer Frank Slay's Chicory label. When the single caught fire locally the fledgling UNI label snapped up national distribution rights, but with "That Acapulco Gold" at number 70 on the Billboard charts, the bottom fell out. Once radio programmers finally intuited the song's pro-marijuana content, it was pulled from play lists coast to coast. The Rainy Daze quickly resurfaced with "Discount City," which went nowhere. The follow-up, "Fe Fi Fo," was quickly deleted and reissued under the new and improved title "Blood of Oblivion," even securing a U.K. release but still failing to crack pop radio. After an LP, That Acapulco Gold, and a Tim Gilbert solo single, "Early October," UNI dropped the group. However, by this time Gilbert and Carter were earning notice as a crack songwriting duo, and via Slay earned a crack at revamping a demo track cut by an unknown psych-pop outfit known as Thee Sixpence. Gilbert and Carter added lyrics and a new melody, titling the finished song "Incense and Peppermints." Thee Sixpence cut the new tune, renamed themselves the Strawberry Alarm Clock immediately thereafter, and in late 1967 topped the Billboard pop charts. No doubt the success of "Incense and Peppermints" contributed to splitting the Rainy Daze in early 1968, but Gilbert nevertheless signed to White Whale to record one final Daze single, "Make Me Laugh," backed by L.A. Said your love for me was dyin' So come on baby, baby please I'm begging you baby, I'm on my knees Without a warning, you broke my heart Taken it baby, torn it apart And you left me standing, in the dark, cryin' Well I get a little lonely in the middle of the night And I need you darling to make things all right So come on baby, baby please And I'm begging you baby, 'cause I'm on my knees Turn on your light, let it shine on me Turn on your love light, let it shine on me Let it shine, let it. He and Carter next masterminded Horses, a country-rock quintet whose eponymous 1969 LP was a victim of White Whale's pending bankruptcy. Gilbert soon after retired from music, but Carter forged on, later writing for Sammy Hagar and the Motels. He also produced two songs on Tina Turner's 1984 comeback smash Private Dancer before moving into artist management. |
